We were originally given Ashley’s number because we thought he was just a tree surgeon. We only wanted some trees removed to make the garden feel bigger and tidier. While he was here quoting, he mentioned that Borders & Boundaries also do fencing, so we explained the type of fence we were after. Straight away, he understood exactly what we wanted and knew it was something they could do. They were booked up for about a month, which was absolutely fine by us. Ashley said they’d be there on Monday morning, and sure enough, 8am on the dot, he and his team arrived and got straight to work. No chasing, no excuses, no drama—just a team that clearly knew what they were doing. They removed all the trees, took out the root balls, and installed a stunning new fence that has completely transformed our garden. I’m quite particular when it comes to detail, and there was one thing about our old fence that had always bothered me. I wanted the new fence done differently to correct it, but before I even had the chance to explain it properly, Ashley had already spotted exactly what I meant and built it the way I’d hoped. That really impressed me because it showed he genuinely cares about getting things right rather than just getting the job finished. We also hit a small problem with the gate that had been ordered. Fitting it as originally planned would have meant drilling into our side access. Instead of making it an issue, Ashley simply said, “Why don’t we do it this way?” His solution was better than anything I’d have come up with myself, and the finished result is all the better for it. As someone who runs a business myself, I know how important good workmanship and customer service are, and I’m also a firm believer that when a company does an outstanding job, they deserve the recognition. Borders & Boundaries were brilliant from start to finish. Great communication, turned up exactly when they said they would, worked incredibly hard, charged a fair price, and the quality of the workmanship is first class. It’s rare these days to find a company that genuinely exceeds expectations, but Ashley and his team did exactly that. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Borders & Boundaries to anyone looking for fencing, tree work or landscaping. Thanks again, you’ve done an amazing job.

Meet the owners
Meet Ashley & Jake
Ashley has 14 years in tree work, from railway vegetation to lead climber, before running his own firm. Jake spent years in metalwork and electrics before finding his place in the trade six years ago.
Two years ago they joined forces to build a local firm doing local jobs, properly.
Today Ashley heads up the tree work, while Jake runs maintenance, fencing and the admin side.
